The Indian women during 17th, 18th and
also 19th century were treated merely as beautiful show pieces, they
were not allowed to study, they were forced to marry at a very tender age of
just 7 or 8 years, in the age of studying and playing with dolls they were
driven towards kitchen and were involved in the house keeping activities.
Now the scene has changed...they are not only enjoying the fruit
of globalised marking but also they influence the domestic and international
spheres. They have developed a space for themselves in this male dominated
world. Indian women manage both burden of work in the household front and
meeting the deadlines at the work place.
We can mark women empowerment by a few names like Smt Pratibha
Patil our 1st lady President, Valentina Tereshkova – 1st
women astronaut, Shahnaz Hussain – the mother of all herbal cosmetics in
world, Kiren Bedi and many more in this
queue. These ladies have marked their achievement and so we can say that women
have proved themselves in every field by their ability to learn quickly from their
abilities, persuasiveness, and open style of problem solving, willingness to
take risks and chances, ability to motivate people, knowing how to win and lose
gracefully.
Today’s women are powerful enough and well
deserved as well to get featured in articles of magazines and newspapers , to
be talked about on TV channels and espoused for so.
